Social enterprises play an important role in inclusive employment

November 29, 2019

Social enterprises contributed $5.2 billion to the Victorian economy in 2017 according to a research report by Swinburne University of Technology.

Almost half of these social enterprises are women-led or managed, creating 60,000 jobs and employing marginalised people in far higher numbers than any other business category.

The number and diversity of social enterprises is growing, and they play an important role in inclusive employment of people with access to less resources, such as those with disabilities, the long-term unemployed, people that are culturally and linguistically diverse and Indigenous Australians.

We are growing our network of social enterprises and welcome introductions to those looking to develop long-term relationships with the corporate community: hello@givvable.com!
